How does anonymity work?

We protect your anonymity through several mechanisms. We do not collect or store your name, email address, or IP address. Only the PayPal transaction ID is recorded for payment verification.

The message sent to the recipient contains no information about who sent it — no headers, metadata, or tracking that could reveal your identity.

Can the recipient find out who sent the report?

No. The recipient receives an email with no identifying information about the sender. It comes from our system and is completely anonymous.

We cannot control what the recipient may infer from context (timing, workplace dynamics, etc.). Our system guarantees technical anonymity — contextual anonymity depends on your own discretion.

What information do you store about me?

We store only the minimum needed:

  • The recipient's email address
  • The message tone selected
  • The PayPal transaction ID
  • The timestamp of submission

We do not store your name, email, IP address, or anything that could identify you. All data is automatically deleted after 90 days.

Why does it cost $1?

The $1 fee covers operational costs including email delivery, payment processing, and system maintenance. It also acts as a friction point that discourages frivolous or malicious use of the service.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment through PayPal, which lets you use credit cards, debit cards, or your PayPal balance. PayPal was specifically chosen because it provides an additional anonymity layer — we never see your card information, only a transaction ID.

Is this website legitimate?

Yes. Forgot Soap is a legitimate service that has helped thousands of people address hygiene concerns anonymously. The best way to verify is to send a report to your own email address — you'll see exactly what the recipient receives.

How quickly is the report delivered?

Reports are sent within 5 minutes of payment confirmation. In rare cases of high volume or technical issues, delivery may take up to 1 hour.

What if I enter the wrong email address?

Please double-check the recipient's email before submitting — once a report is sent we cannot recall it. If you notice an error immediately after submitting, contact our support team and we may be able to prevent delivery if it hasn't gone out yet.

The message is sent from Forgot Soap and includes our branding. The recipient will know it came from our service, but will not know who paid to send it or have any information about the sender.
